1,000 Playbook Tablets Recalled by RIM

Research In Motion Ltd. (RIM) has recalled 1,000 tablet computers upon knowledge of faulty operating software.  The issue was in relation to the initial set-up of the Playbook tablet computer.

RIM stated that for the 16 gigabyte Playbook only, did they find issues of properly loading software for initial set-up.

If users have problems with their devices, RIM has directed owners of the 16GB Playbook to contact them.  Fortunately, as RIM points out, much of the faulty Playbooks have yet to reach the customer.

The problem was initially reported by engadget on Saturday.  Research In Motion Ltd. hopes to alleviate the issue quickly.
